In the past, some requested jobs had involved sink marks, pinholes, or insufficient overlay, or had locations that require overlay due to sudden design changes, leading to situations in which the mold had to be pulled up, re-welded, and brought in again.
By installing our own welding equipment, even in these cases we are able to perform work from overlay to the finishing process in-house without pulling up the mold, which contributes to customers in the form of short delivery time.
Support for various welding processes
e are able to handle both new and in-use molds by ourselves without going through multiple contractors, shortening processes and cutting costs. Our laser welding supports fine welding including overlay correction and mold repair. We are of course able to cooperate with customers even on jobs involving welding alone.

Imai Gikou’s laser welding can handle fine welding, including overlay correction and mold repair. Laser welding is able to reduce metal usage compared with normal welding, leading to cost reductions for customers.

Steps in mold repair using laser welding
When a mold taken in from a customer is found to have a portion that requires overlay using welding, Imai Gikou is able to perform the overlay and repair the mold in-house without delaying the work schedule.
